We were fortunate to receive an upgrade to a corner room in the main building, which offered a truly amazing view of the property, the ocean, and the island. The room was wonderfully quiet; the only sound I heard at night was the peaceful rhythm of the waves. The swimming pool was large and deep, perfect for lap swimming. I especially appreciated that it felt slightly heated, making it comfortable to swim even at night. The lounge access was incredibly convenient for grabbing coffee and small bites. Additionally, the lei making class was a fun and enjoyable activity.

The hotel is truly beautiful and the stay itself was excellent. However, I was very disturbed to see penguins kept in a small indoor enclosure in the middle of the lobby. This does not feel appropriate or respectful toward wildlife, especially here on Maui, where conservation and the protection of native species are taken so seriously. It would be wonderful to see the hotel reconsider this practice and arrange for the animals to be transferred to a proper sanctuary. Such a step would align much better with the values of the island and with modern standards of animal welfare.

This is the best hotel in Maui! It's been my go-to for years. The staff always goes above and beyond to create a warm, inviting, friendly, and hospitable environment. The rooms and views are superb, the food is beyond delicious, and the amenities are top notch. I would highly recommend staying here at the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa. They are the best at what they do!

My husband and I stayed here on our Honeymoon in August 2025 and we can't wait to be able to come back! Super comfortable rooms with outstanding views of the ocean and the staff could not have been nicer! The hotel has a penguin habitat in the lobby where they do a feeding and presentation every morning - this was one of the most special and unique parts of the hotel and we enjoyed seeing them everytime we walked through the lobby! We got massages at the Spa which is right on the water, utilized the Gym, which is very large. We had a delicious dinner at Son'z Steakhouse with more incredible views. The pool facilities are expansive and there's an entire separate Kids Pool and area. We spent time at the Pool Bar and the bartenders really made an effort to get to know you and remember your name each day. We loved the accessibility to be able to walk down the path along the water to Whaler's Village for lunch and happy hour! All in all, another wonderful experience with Hyatt - thank you to the staff for making our Honeymoon so special!

I love this place so much. Perfect stay for a perfect vacation in the perfect island of Maui. Every employee we encountered was friendly and polite. Everything was clean and beautiful at all times. The walking path to the mall and Black Rock beach is a dream. I did their yoga class - great. We used their pickleball courts - great. Their pools and jacuzzis - great. I did come review the Hyatt mostly because I wanted to hype up the breakfast/dinner lounge. If you’re able to, I recommend it. I know you have to pay extra for it but in my opinion it was worth it. The breakfast is simple but delicious. Their coffee is amazing and you can get expressos anytime of the day. Their dinners are supposed to be appetizers but they could counted as full meals. Their drink specials are great too!!! Overall, I love this hotel and can’t wait to go back.

We’ve been blessed with the opportunity to stay a night at a few hotels on Maui, and I have to say—so far, the Hyatt has them all beat, especially if you’re looking for a family-friendly resort! We have a two- and three-year-old, so while my husband checked us in, we hung out in the courtyard near the front desk and saw parrots, PENGUINS, and koi fish. Once we got to our room, it was modern, clean, and had an amazing partial ocean view (I’d argue it was full—maybe I’m just a glass-half-full kind of girl, haha). The couch in the room had a small tear with some metal sticking out, so I let housekeeping know, and they immediately moved us to another room for the kids’ safety. They were so kind and accommodating. Our new room had a full ocean view and was on the 8th floor—the view was incredible, though with toddlers I think I’ll go for a lower floor next time, haha. After settling in, we went down to the kids’ pool. My son (3) is usually nervous around water, so I was curious how he’d do. After only a few minutes, he was waist-deep, playing with the pebbles (yes, pebbles on the pool floor!) and exploring their little “tide pools.” He even got brave enough to go down the medium-sized slide! My daughter (2) was in heaven—she’s obsessed with swimming and water play, so she didn’t want to leave. The overall experience was amazing, and we’ll definitely be booking here again if and when we can! Huge thanks to the front desk, housekeeping, and staff for making it such a positive and memorable staycation.

Great hotel and amenities. The baby pool was great. It's big, shallow and has a fun slide for younger kids/toddlers. The birds in the lobby are great attractions for everyone to enjoy.

Our family had an incredible stay at the Hyatt Regency Maui! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel like VIPs. We were thrilled with our beautiful oceanfront room—it was the perfect backdrop for a relaxing vacation. A special shout out to Connor for his tremendous service. Our kids couldn’t get enough of the lava slide at the pool; it quickly became their favorite activity! The entire team was so accommodating and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. One of the highlights for all of us was seeing the penguins every day—it’s such a unique and fun touch that made the experience even more memorable. We can’t wait to come back again soon! Highly recommend this resort for families looking for an unforgettable Maui getaway.
